STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) + A (Art + Design) = STEAM
Why STEAM? The importance of STEM education is commonplace in today’s schools and classrooms (go ahead, ask your child about STEM and what they are doing in school for it, and they will start to tell you all about it). But the inclusion of and relationship of Arts and Design to the other fields is a natural fit when it comes to participation in Robotics. Turns out that the Arts are pretty important when dealing with and finding creative solutions to some of the problems we are addressing with robots, and all facets of STEAM have an opportunity to shine when it comes to building a successful robot.
